I do think it's going higher, but I don't know if it'll do it before the end of this year. Either way, I'd rather have silver than most other asset types.

  • While it is encouraging that Gold has broken out and stayed above it's previous alltime high Silver has badly lagged behind, what this tells us is either Silver is grossly underpriced or Gold is overvalued as the ratio is way off the long time historical normal range of roughly 18-20:1.

It is possible that the dollar bounces off its current level. If this were to happen then obviously the stock market along with precious metals would have to go down in price creating an opportunity for Gold bugs to buy in at more favorable prices. I'm making this assumption based on what happened late last year and this spring when the stock market came tumbling down and precious metals tumbled badly too.

I would have to say that Gold and Silver will probably go down from where they currently sit to shake out some of the weak hands, the only thing I could see changing this would be something unexpected like another terrorist attack in the United States or an attack by Israel or the United States on Iran in which oil flow out of the Persian gulf was interrupted.
  • I failed to add that long term buying Silver here will turn out to be a very wise decision, however you may have a chance to buy it $3-4 cheaper if the unexpected happens. Gold and Silver are due for a correction at some point before the end of the year IMHO.

I hope you're right, if this happens I've got some funds which will be made available to purchase another 2,000 ounces.

    Yes.

A moderate dip is possible before the end of this month. Then I see a consderably higher price by end of November or early December. It's possible December will show some weakness but well above the lows of Oct/Nov. I doubt we'll see sub-$16 silver the rest of this year. I'd be very surprised if we don't see $19-$21 silver by the end of the year.

If the stock market takes a tumble (which many people now expect), the initial reaction is for all other markets to pull in their horns as well.

It's all relative. If the stock market pulls back 25% this time, I would expect silver to pull back maybe 15%. As the money gets re-allocated, silver would probably benefit by being on the receiving end as fewer people put money back into the stock market, having been burned twice.

I'm sure that TPTB all know this, and that's why interest rates are staying low. Higher rates would kill the stock market quickly, and right now the public is hurting too badly for the party in power to take that risk - the mid-term elections will be here quicker than you think already.

I feel $10 silver is Very possible and I will hold my breath or Funds until it gets around there. Only a few months ago we were around $10/oz. Things weren't going so well at that point either. It made no sense at that point and it won't when it dips back down. I maybe wrong but you maybe wrong also. Only time will tell. Not everything is predictable.
