Vegas Card Shops

Does anyone know of any good card shops in the Vegas area. Heading out with the
wife in the morning.

  • I saw an ad for card shop called Legacy Sports Cards, said it was the closest card shop to the strip or something along those lines.

Are you talking about Smokey's?? If I remember correctly, they got busted during the Operation Bullpen by the FBI for selling fake autographed memoribilia. I believe the two owners pled guilty to the charges and had their inventory seized by the Feds. Not 100% sure though, but that's what my recollection is.

Just found this on the web, believe the year they are referencing is 2005 or 2006:

"Phillip and David Scheinman pled guilty in Federal court on August 12 for selling forged sports memorabilia. They owned and operated a store in Las Vegas called Smokey's Sportscards. They were prominently featured on TV when the FBI raided numerous establishements in Operation Bullpen. The raid on their store made TV news all over the country. They also sold on ebay. The father-son combination will be serving at least one year in Federal prison."

Mike ... THAT'S the one I was thinking of as well! Didn't know they got nailed in Operation Bullpen.

You could probably get a pretty cheap OJ auto while you're out there if you want. He's got nothing better to do...

Honey, here's some money for slots. I'm gonna go find a card shop...

  • Legacy is a good store. Sold the owner some cards and he said he could find whatever I was interested in. But the weather is so perfect and construction and traffic so bad I wouldn't recommend it, unless you find yourself with an overwhelming desire to look at a Ripken rookie or 1957 Whitey Ford card

Really, c'mon man! Its Vegas! We don't collect cards in Vegas unless it has a nude woman posing on it with her phone number on the back and was given to you by someone who does not speak English on the sidewalk between the Belligo and ceasar's! That's the only card collecting going on in Vegas!
