    I'm very sorry to be reading this. I hope they are caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

    I also think that it's a good idea to canvas the area where this occured to see if any video cams nearby were in operation. The cops might do this, but they also may not depending on their staffing.

    My thoughts are that these thieves planned this very well and had a fence in place for the material.

    Someone who is not your garden variety burglar(s) either.

    Sooner or later these coins will get slabbed / reslabbed and that would be a chance for a link to the crime.

    I'd also lay odds that someone who has knowledge of the crime has lurked on this thread.
