OBW Finds on my birthday!!!

About a year ago I bought a group of 36 OBW 1956D Lincolns on eBay, all from Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. I wanted to look through them at the time but we were in the middle of a move and living in hotels, so off they went into a box in storage. I finally found the box and started looking through them last night, and WOW what a nice purchase that was! There are 3 types of rolls represented with different printing styles. I opened one of each of the 3 types and this is what I found:
Roll 1: 10 WDMM-001 1956D/S, S between 1 and 9 of date
Roll 2: No varieties, nice coins though
Roll 3: 4 RPM#1, the one with the nice wide spread
Based on what I found, I am going to make the assumption these were unsearched. But who knows, maybe they were but the searcher(s) were not variety collectors? Too bad for them.
I have 33 more rolls to look through! How much fun is that going to be??
To celebrate my numismatic birthday present, I am going to give away three (3) BU examples of the 1956D/S from the first roll. Here's what you need to do to win:
1) wish me a happy birthday
2) quote the Daughtry reference designation for this variety (eg 1OMM-005)
3) quote the Crawford reference designation for this variety (eg CDMM-005)
4) quote the Wexler reference designation for this variety (eg WOMM-005)
5) quote the CONECA reference designation for this variety (eg OMM-005)
First 3 folks replying with the correct designations win. WARNING: one of the above is a trick(!!!!!)

Sure brings back my memories of searching bags of nickels and dimes in the 1950's.
They came from parking meters and bus fares.
That was a thrill a minute!

I collect all 20th century series except gold including those series that ended there.

Congrats on the cool finds on your birthday! I haven't found this one yet but I like it even though Coneca delisted it. Still a neat variety.
Supposedly some new analysis is done on OMMs in the soon-to-be-published Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents and I can't wait to see what Wexler and Allen's conclusion is.

<< <i>this variety is similar to a lot of RPMs that actually get stronger as the die wears due to metal strain and die wear. >>
This is true, some RPMs get stronger and clearer in later states.
More examples to look at might change the opinions of the experts.
What ever came of this based on your 2009 post? rmpsrpms?
Wow, 12 year old post. Lots of memories there. Indeed it looks like I need to dig up the remaining 33 rolls of 56-D. Not sure what became of them. I haven't sold any 56-D OBW's so they are probably still around.
As it turns out, everyone expected the CPG 6th to have this variety in it. But Wiles ended up as a contributor and supposedly blocked the inclusion. So the variety is still in limbo. There are a couple folks, including Jason C, who also don't believe this is an OMM/DMM, but for most everyone else who views one there is no question. I've done my own overlays and am still convinced, but alas I have no power.

Guess it’s a little too late to wish you happy birthday , but what’s 12 years and 5 weeks lol 😉
.
do you have a thread/post(s)/image(s) here somewhere?
No, I've never published them. I basically agreed with Wiles that the "S" was inverted, but for some reason he still would not authenticate it even with that result, not sure why.

How about some pictures now?? I was off doing consulting work during the OP....so missed it completely (though I would not have known the designations anyway). Always nice to learn though... Cheers, RickO
