How many players would rather not make it to the post season?

Probably most prevalent in basketball where the "second" season drags on forever.
Probably one or two guys on a team. Mostly the highly paid vets that have been there before and the post season bonus means relatively little.
I recall some years ago when Rickey Henderson was playing cards in the Mets locker room during the final innings of a close game. Pretty sure it was in the playoffs, but not positive.

Indeed, for many years, the Lakers were the poster children for professional teams that coasted through the regular season and then turned it up in the postseason, particularly when they still had Shaq on the team.

I forgot about all of the regular season stragglers. I still maintain that more than a few old timers would rather not bother with the postseason. Not a large number, but they do exist.

Many of the folks who devoted their entire lives to the game are mercenaries that ave no allegiance to a given City. Many of the fans have lived and died for their home team for generations. I used to be one of them.

Same thing with hockey, since more than 50% of the teams get into the playoffs
