  • Not a good second half for the Eagles yesterday. 5 went cold and the D could not stop the Broncos. Fumbles and unnecessary penalties almost cost them the game.

This will not do in the playoffs.

  • << <i>Still searching for that last playoff win, lsutigers? I know its been a long time, we'll wait! >>

I'm sorry, did you say something?

You're right, but I think the Eagles thought they had that game wrapped up and let down a bit, especially when they knew they were in the playoffs regardless. Other times in past seasons the Eagles might have lost that game, but the Eagles holding on to win showed me something there. Also this was a sandwich game between winning a playoff spot and facing the Cowboys next week...I thought the Eagles might lose that game yesterday, but having the focus to win it, tells me they should be formidable in the playoffs...at least I hope so.

  • If the Eagles beat the Cowboys this week they will play again in the first round of the playoffs.

That is, unless the Vikings lose tonight or next week?

Could be a crazy two weeks.

Eagles need a first round home game if they play Dallas.

This Eagles team has jelled very nicely as the season has progressed...they are playing excellent football...and they're hungry...very hungry...that's a tough combination to beat.

I'd love to see an Eagles - Colts Super Bowl despite that the Colts would likely be around a 6 1/2 point favorite...but yell, I'll take any old AFC team. LOL

live in the past much douchebag?
  • This is not good. Jackson has been the most consistent on the O line for the past few years.

    Jamaal Jackson out for season

Eagles center Jamaal Jackson is out for the season with a knee injury.

“Jamaal Jackson has ACL tear and he’ll be out the remaining part of the season," Andy Reid said in his Monday news conference. "He had an MRI this morning."

Reid was asked how big of a loss not having Jackson will be: "He's a good football player. We're fortunate that we have Nick [Cole] here who is a center. He's on the same page as Donovan [McNabb] with the snap counts and everything."

Actually, that was a bit of a problem in Sunday's victory over the Broncos, with Cole, who has been starting at right guard, looking a little rusty on the snaps. He snapped the ball too soon at the Birds' 1, creating a fumble that Donovan McNabb fell on. Another time, Cole dragged the ball on a shotgun snap, causing a false start by Winston Justice.

Reid said those problems will be worked out with Cole getting a full week of practice at center.

This is a terrible break for Jackson, the leader of the Eagles' offensive line and perhaps its most consistent member.

ACL injuries sometimes take a full year to recover from -- just ask Stacy Andrews, who could get another shot at right guard now. That might mean Jackson isn't really himself until the end of next season.

Team sources have said that Andrews, inactive since the Nov. 15 loss at San Diego, has improved with his confidence in his rebuilt ACL and with his technique, which the Birds considered pretty crude when he arrived from Cincinnati last offseason. It will be interesting to see whether Andrews or Max Jean-Gilles takes over at right guard this week, with Cole moving.

"Stacy's in the mix," Reid said.

I think it's sad that all you eagletts fans want to hang your hat on the one game last year. You went on to do nothing. Cowboys have 5 Super Bowls.....how many do the eagletts have!!!!!image

this chit ticks me off...it's always somethin' - if Chad Lewis doesn't get hurt there's no doubt we win the Super Bowl that year. i hate late season injuries like this - hopefully Cole can do the job...ug.

  • It's comical I get called out for living in the past but you cowboys clowns want to talk about super bowl victories that happened 10+ years ago as if they are somehow relevant? Pick a side, fellas! You can't have it both ways!
