pickup up some goodies today

After wrapping up wheat harvest I had a little down time so I went to my favorite B&M today.
They always set aside interesting bars and rounds for me so when I walk in the door I ask if they have anything for me.
The guy who sets stuff aside for me said he had some things I might want to buy and brings back some very interesting bars, this is what I purchased for $1 over spot: a 1986 Homestake mine 50.21 oz. bar complete with small canvas bag
2- kilo foreign commerce bank Zurich Switzerland with serial #s D-1932 and E-3165,
2-250 grain 8.02 oz. foreign commerce bank Zurich Switzerland bars,
1- 2 1/2 oz. Draper mint round 1974 on one side with Swiss of America and a mountain scene on the other side,
a 1 oz. krugerand commemorative round,
a JM 10 gram Silver bar serial#012184.
I traded in 5-10 oz. generic bars for Silver spot on this group of bars and rounds.

Homestake 50 oz is a cool piece, fetch ok money if you sold it on ebay, remember when I told you, the smaller the bar the more massive the premium for some of these old pours. For example a Bear Paw Mining bar sold for only 17/oz but it was because it was a 100 oz. A 20 oz one would easily sell for 20-30+/oz.

The Zurich kilos and 8 ozs were good pickups.

  • I guess you could say that I bought some 1/4 kilo bars today, it would've been neat if they were stamped that way.
