Looks like a copper shell with no core.

A sharp punch and some hydrochloric acid and you can completely remove the zinc interior from a zincoln...leaving a thin copper shell.
  • Must have received it in change in that last few days. It has a nice smooth finish and full weight.

    Nice smooth finish?

Are you looking at the same coin I am looking at?

"Smooth" is not the word I would use.

If it is full weight, then this looks like fire damage. It certainly looks highly oxidized.
  • lol, I thought I was listing it on eBay. I mean its not crusty feeling. The coin is Rippled like crazy.

Now that's what I call "crusty" and crispy.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Those zincolns don't last well.

    LOL... it's a 2007 plain.

    A penny for your thoughts
    A dime for your dreams
Would a shiny new quarter buy a peek at your schemes?

    And when you are away
    So far from my side
I will cherish my pennies worth
Till at last I'm your bride

    A penny for your thoughts
    Let's call it a deal
    I don't have any secrets
    You know how I feel

    A penny for your thoughts
    It's settled and done
    I'd have offered a million
I'd have done it for none

    I reckon we're in love
    And married we'll be
    And all for a penny
    A bright copper penny
The penny that brought you to me
