Weird this thread poped up now. I sent a check to my local firehouse for $100 this week. Almost a year ago to the day my house was struck by lightening and it was the first time in my life I dialed 911. The firefighters were at my house in less than 3 minutes and were on the roof and in my attick in less than 5 minutes looking for damage/fire/smoldering.
<< <i>I live in Orlando and I participated in the boot drive....but all I dropped in was a $5.....man I'm a cheapskate >>
I dont think your being cheap. Just imagine if everyone were to contribute $5. That sure would be an exceptional amount of money donated. >>
My daughter looked at me funny when I gave the $5 bill as she was like "Dad...you could have given that to me!!!". I told her she may act handicapped around the house but she has no idea what these folks go through and how much money it takes to get them the medical treatment they need etc. I think that woke her up a bit
