You guys are driving me crazy





ok opened up a box of lp3 s and am using my reading glasses and a magnifying glass to look at them with mixed results so When I go go the B&M to pick up a loupe what should I look for???Is a 10 x enough to see the cents clearly? or do I need more than that??

  • That depends on oyour eye sight. My 10x 17mm works great for me.

    10x should be sufficient. I use a BelOMO and highly recommend it. It costs much less than a B&L and has a slightly bigger field of view, also. I feel that this loupe will give you the most bang for the buck. Search ebay for Belomo and they should have some, I think I paid about $30 for mine, including shipping. Whatever brand you go with, make sure it's a triplet.
  • I use a 10X linen tester. So much easier to use. Printing companies use them, you just set it on the coin, bingo. It doesn't touch the coin. About $10. I own a printing co. and we use them to check the quality of the little dots......you will be indebted to me forever image

    I use a 10x for general purposes adn use my 16x if I see something interesting. I have a 5x I use when my eyes feel their age...

    10X should be sufficient... However, rather than buy cheap, I would recommend a good lens such a Zeiss. It has clarity and the field is excellent for the entire width of the lens. Cheers, RickO
