    Hey I'm impressed

I've been looking for one also.

I thought the first one was found in Utica NY just down the road from me ?

So i thought the odds should be better here in Syracuse

Wow. Now there's 2. Guess PCGS will make it a required coin in the Major Variety set then. image
  • Very cool for whoever found this! I've been searching for this and the D-mint for quite some time.

........there's so much stuff out in the coin world to look out for. i, for one remember a lot of what to look for but just to make sure i don't let anything get away until i check the change before it's released in the big world.image when i get change i save it until i check it against my 'sheet of coins worth keeping' list. and cherrypickers' guide. the little woman hates my habits.image

Had one on my ebay radar up until today.

PCGS AU 55. Auction ended early. It was bid to about $2400.
    I had 2 bids prepared. $2468.10 and $3579.11
Was a bit miffed to see it end early and be gone. C'est la vie.

Somewhere in someone's change jar or hiding deep in their couch cushions or even lying in a take-a-penny tray there must be more of these coins. In a case like this, knowledge is power. It would certainly make my year to find one of these!

Can someone post a large photo of a normal one and a large photo of the variety?...or link to them?

Maybe I should add this to my list of things to search for...

Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.

    This one is really tough.
I have searched hundreds and hundreds of rolls of 92's and am still looking.
    Empty handed, but still looking.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

also to add to your list of things to search for; threads about this coin and coins like this as they have been discussed a few times in the past couple years. of course if you clicked threads about other things than mercury dimes, you'd know this. image

Ditto for me: Hard to find the 92-D, and impossible to find the 92! Wonderful good fortune there.

If at least 2-4 coins have been discovered so far there has to be a decent amount that were minted with that different die???

Definitely a variety to look for!

I can't even begin to count how many '92 P and D mint cents I've looked at for the variety. Definitely tough!! Whoever found it SUCKS.
