It is very dismaying to see what eBay is allowing to happen.

I can imagine the expression of the eventual buyer if this listing survives and they have the coin reviewed by a knowledgable numismatist. This is why I refuse to play eBay's game. They will let the auction run it's course, then grab their fees and the Paypal fees, which will earn them interest until or if the buyer realizes their blunder. It's a win/win situation for eBay/Paypal only.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Unbelievable, I see people putting nice slabbed top tier TPG commems up at 95% of CDN Bid and getting no takers and they are buying this!
<< <i>The interesting thing is it has a $250 Bid. Any wagers its a Chinese counterfeit?

Partly my point. Moreso, eBay is promoting the premise that they have increased consumer protection with their new payment structure of allowing only Paypal or credit card processing. Except that for every SNAD claim that is processed, eBay's affiliate Paypal will never offer to pay any of the interest earned on a buyers' transaction amount that eventually gets refunded. That may seem like small potatoes, but those figures can add up very quickly as free money for eBay/Paypal, and is certainly an incentive for them to ignore the widespread issue of SNAD items being offered.

Also, PCGS has said they will take action, so send a link to Jamie.
Coindeuce, how do you post a link? I bought some trash from Seller info "numismaticbureau" they sent me 2 replica coins in the trash. I emailed a question and asked them why a reputable coin dealer would do that, and they replied their add said it included replica coins. Well it certainly did not! I reported them to EBay, and of course they did nothing. I want to post the link and let you guys be the judge.

<< <i>Ebay went into the toilet years ago. Get over it! It’s a cesspool. Take that to the bank and look for other places to buy coins. >>
Check out my current listings: https://ebay.com/sch/khunt/m.html?_ipg=200&_sop=12&_rdc=1
The alternate is ebay quits allowing coin auctions, which I have heard they have considered.
How about, buyers start taking some responsibility for what they are bidding on.

The stars about the head are soooo fake. Dentils on reverse are uneven, etc.
Don't need to look further.
I read the above posts and do hope that coins will always be part of Ebay. Buyers
are getting better as you see a lot of fakes not getting bids anymore. Or, if they
do, really cheap bids. Ebay cannot police all the auctions one by one. If you see a
problem then take the bull by the horn and just report it. No big deal, ebay will
investigate and it ends or it doesn't. Just don't sit passively at your monitor and
let your knowledge of a particular series go to waste. Do something besides
getting upset. coinduece called the seller to the carpet. That's the right thing.
If he doesn't get the drift just report him tomorrow night.
Hmmmmm, Oh my.

Where did you hear that? I would consider it a disaster for the hobby.
How could you not trust that?

According to eBay, the seller takes ALL responsibility for the content of their listing. Too bad eBay is not willing to enforce that. They are only interested in the money. It's only and all about corporate greed.

They should quit allowing autographs first.
I've seen some with out right and unmistakable misspellings that were not taken down after I've reported them.

The scallywags will just become first party slabbers; there are enough of them to wade through already.
<<Face it, ebay is a dumping ground for junk coins as well as a haven for scoundrels... but to make such a blanket statement as Ebay is total crap is preposterous. You just have to be willing to wade through the murk to find good stuff. >>
AMEN!!! If it was easy everyone would do it. There are plenty of decent people selling coins on EBay, at fair prices. There will always be cherries to pick if you are careful and do your homework.
Some say ebay is a cesspool, I couldn't disagree more.
If you know what you are buying, then ebay is probably the BEST place to buy coins.

I don't think I have ever been quoted in whole or in part more times in one thread than this one!
I realize the seller is responsible for the content of their listing, and several people evidently reported the auction, and contacted the seller about the fake. That is all good. I was just pointing out the alternate, and that is that it takes a lot of ebay to deal with a category that is, IIRC like 2% of their revenue, and full of fakes and complaints. To those asking where I heard that, just internet gossip, nothing more. 2% is still 2% more than ebay would get without that category.
I also made this post still with the Friday night ebay seller bashing post on my head, so I am sure that is partly why I may have come off completely on the other side of the coin from the OP post, no offense intended.
I am sure if ebay is aware of a fake, they will take action, but it is still a buyers responsibility when buying raw coins on ebay, to know what they are buying.
