favre question

AhmanfanAhmanfan Posts: 4,390 ✭✭✭✭
how can he never be a member of a particular team, miss camp, sign on tuesday and is handed the reigns and will START ON FRIDAY??
Favre has sucked in the playoffs lately. Why is he better than sage rosenfels? and even if he is, how can you just give him the keys to this great team when he obviously isn't as committed as other choices at qb?

I dont get it. I would not be starting favre especially this friday.

Simply put Minny's other Qb's are awful.

I think you might be buying into the Favre hype. Here are the comparable stats of Favre and Rosenfels last season:

TD INT Comp% Record as starting QB
    Rosenfels 6 10 67% 2-3

    Favre 22 22 66% 9-7

Here are the lifetime season-ending INT in the playoffs stats: Favre- a lot , Rosenfels- None

Why the love for Brett? Dude has not had a good playoff run in 8 years. He's experienced, but a lot of it is bad experience (bad habits), etc.

  • I have always thought it is wrong to compare stats where a player is NOT on the same team. I'll stay with that notion, thank you.

    Bottom line here.

Yes Brett Favre is NOT as good as he was 10 years ago, but he is as experienced as it gets, can STILL throw the ball, and well the guy is NOT indecisive, like TJack is.

My only worry is that he is going to get hurt (sacked) from the left side (Lazy McKinnie). Then again we have a Rook on the Right side too. They will play a HUGE role in Favres season.

It is very possible that Sage gets some serious playing time this year as well, and I think he can succeed. If he wants a ring, STFU and enjoy the ride.

Oh, and Fran Tarkenton, Go AWAY. Thanks for choking for us, you bitter old man.

I liked him when he played, but hated him ever since he retired -- he's an even bigger infomercial whore than Bruce Jenner!

I think that as long as he can still hand the ball off to AP, he and the Vikings will be just fine.

An old Farve is better that 75% of starting NFL QBs.

  • 3000 more season tix and 10000 single game tix sold, and god knows how many jerseys to add to that, and there is your answer. Vikes make money, NFL makes money, TV stations have a story- woo hoo!

But Sage played well on Sat and I know it was Brett's 1st day, but he didn't connect on very many of his passes yesterday . I also don't think he should start on friday either. let sage continue to develop. I think childress has a big boner for brett, and team unity be damned.
