1st Edition Redbooks

Anyone know what they tend to sell for these days? I may have an opportunity to buy one, and I don't even know what ballpark price to offer.

Aside from the condition of the book , I believe there were two printings which impact value. The second printing going for a lesser amount.

Absolutely look up the criteria for the first printing.

Condition, condition, condition. 1st edition, 1st printing in Mint (as New) have sold for $2500+.

Raggedy as stated above. PM if you get it and don't want to keep itimage

Check out Frank Colletti's Guide Book of the Official Red Book of United States Coins.

In addition to having valuations for every edition since the first, it's a good read.

It won a 2009 Extraordinary Merit award from the Numismatic Literary Guild.

  • Both of the 1947 Guidebooks were printed in identical amounts.

As mentioned, condition is the key to value.
