Mini 1987 Topps UK Football Project/ Poster

After seeing 'gecko109' Basketball project it got me thinking (Link).
The 1987 UK Football set is one of my favorites. It’s a small 88 card set with a puzzle.
Showing both sides of the puzzle made it a 100 cards and I could do 10 X 10 cards.
I centering both puzzles in the middle and put the NFC on the left (5 row's) and AFC on the right (5 Row's).
Here is the project in the current state. I put them in order from how they finished in the 1986 season and playoffs.

Very cool! I've been trying to find an unopened box of 87 UK, but no luck. Would be a fun box to open. I've got a Largent PSA 9 and would like to pick up a PSA 9 Payton. Tony

    I like it much.

It would please me more, if the checklist could be repositioned in a non-border spot.

mcolney1 - I have an extra PSA 9 Payton if you’re interested. I also have some extra PSA 8's of some of the stars. Let me know. Wax boxes of these are hard to find.

storm888 - I was not sure what to do with the checklist. I arranged them from top to bottom by team record (1986) and left and right by conference. If you draw a line between Taylor and Elway down you will see NFC on the Left and AFC on the right. The NFC has one less player in the set for the checklist. All 88 cards are there.

Problem - to me - is that it breaks the "frame" that ALL of
    the other outside cards form.

The eye ends up at the checklist within a nanosecond.

It looks like it could be worked into an interior spot next
    to the big center spots.

I didn't notice the checklist until reading storm's post. Then again, I have no eye for art.

Sweet project! How big are those "mini" cards?

Very nice project - going back to 1987 - seems like eons ago!

    Cool puzzle with the Fridge!

I remember the SB champs of 86 - the Bears creamed the Pats and Perry was part of an option play where he was a running back! Alright!

Thanx for sharing - very cool.

Just found out that BBCE has these. These are the same size as the 1988 UK Baseball.

This mini-size version of the 1987 football cards was distributed in the United Kingdom for British fans of American football. The cards measure only 2 1/8" by 3". Some of the photos used are different from the regular 1987 Topps issue football cards, although the style is essentially the same.

The card backs are colorful and feature a "Talking Football" section where a football term is explained. A collector box (with a complete set checklist on the side) is also available. The cards are arranged according to teams. Cards 76 through 87 are puzzle pieces, combining to show team action photos on their fronts and William "The Refrigerator" Perry on their backs. Card number 88 is a checklist.

These were available is cellophane packs with 5 cards and a piece of gum. The boxes held 48 packs and were sealed with 4 yellow collector boxes.

These were made in the Republic of Ireland by Topps Ireland, Ballincollig, Cork. and printed on white stock.

These have centering and cut issues similar to Topps OPC cards.

I opened a box of 87 Topps UK FB and have a ton of singles (including stars) that I would like to sell. Many of the cards are in NM/MT+ shape and were placed in individual sleeves after pulled from packs. I also have the box and wrappers. Please PM me if interested in buying the whole lot. Thanks.

Thanks to board member Aric I bought a couple of boxes. I'm saving one for display and I ripped part of the other. Here are the highlights. Would certainly like to trade with fellow board members to complete a set. I will also be posting some unopened packs with stars on top for sale. Tony

Let me know what you need. I have the #1 PSA set and hence plenty of extra raw ones. I'm looking for a mint centered checklist card if you happen to get one.

I received my box today from BBCE.

It was a lot of fun ripping. A pretty even distribution of cards. (2+ sets)
Typical centering and cut issues as OPC but stil a few nice ones,

The 2 checklist I found were almost miscut.

Here is some of the nicer cards:
