  • Completely off topic, but...

Is it possible to identify a BIN buyer if they don't leave feedback?

There's no way to know if a seller purchased his or her own BIN listing using a shill account, is there?

Is there ever a financial incentive for a seller to buy their own BIN items? Perhaps to boost DSRs and sales volume to be a Power Seller?

Excuse me, but you said you own a B&M and are an ANA member and you can honestly describe the rims of this coin as "cud like"?
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

I am referring to the material on the rim between star 3 & 4 as "cud like"

You are right, you cant see the buyer until he leaves feedback, Maybe I bought it from myself from a shill account and am going to pay fees on a $550 item just to spite you. If I was gonna do that, I would have made the sale for higher. image

I am going to give you all a reminder as soon as feedback is left. You can count on it.

I do not care either way, but that proves nothing. I have left positive feedback for purchases that I regretted later when I learned more.

Rather than continuing to argue with everyone here about the merits of the coin and attempting to convince us of your outstanding credentials and strong ethical foundation, this might be a better time to stop posting and let the thread sink to page 847. Perhaps the next time you try to sell something here, everyone will have forgotten about this escapade.

Again, this is a false and misleading statement. THERE ARE NO CUDS ON THIS OBVERSE DIE.

I have written several articles in the John Reich Journal on draped bust half dollars, including articles on cuds and new die marriage discoveries for the series.

There is no "escapade." And I have nothign to be ashamed of. I have had at least 10 succesful transactions with members here and if someone doesnt want to deal with me they dont have to. I made a claim andwas ridiculed, and I proved my point just like I promosed I would. Game over.

Also, I know that it isnt a cud. I said "cud like" meaning it resembles one. Its like talking to a person that just interprets whatever they want regardless of what I say. If you want just make up my responses from now on and reply to those. You are practically doing it already.

Interesting, you admit that you know it is not a cud and yet you put this misleading statement on eBay:

    << <i>Coin has a somewhat pinched/flattened rim at 9 o'clock on the obverse. >>

<< <i>This may have happened at the mint. >>

It absolutely did not happen at the mint, and you know it.

Finding a novice buyer to fall for these misleading statements including "this is a nice coin with an original surface" does not justify the excessive price paid. And this assumes the coin is not a cast fake, which is could be.

    Not a big fan

There are plenty of eye appealing 1806's out there, buy a nice one that excites you....

one that you will want to show off to board members; instead of a coin that prompts you to ask opinions/acceptance

be confident in your coin purchases, otherwise you will end up replacing/regreting in the future,

  • One of my personal favorites. I especially like the post where he claims to have run a coin shop for 15 years. Great eye for coins, too.

Haha, this is the thread that caused me to block FECs PMs...I love the comment about owning a shop and being in business for 15 years. He sounds like a guy so wrapped up in his own lies that he started to believe them...

Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

FEC's alleged credentials. However, if you read Fletcher's thread about it, the owner of Flying Eagle Coins claims no relationship with FEC.

I hope FEC returns. He kept things lively here. image

I feel like a schmuck for taking so long to realize how old that thread is. But I don't feel as much of a schmuck as the guy who dropped over $500 bucks on that coin. I kind of like the coin, but not at $550.

I'd be a willing gambler at 1000:1 odds that FEC will never be back as FEC- maybe as an alt- but not as FEC.

To bad- he was able to pull up some nice coin pics of key date coins- but never seemed to have them listed on ebay.

I hope this thread can last a few 'rounds' before Don throws in the towel.....

When I went to add key_dates to my blocked ebay bidder list last night he was there already.
Don't ask me when but it's been months since I've gotten a tip on a lame ebayer.

Anybody notice that when he sold this half it was using "flying-eagle-coin" on ebay? With pictures of the storefront.
