My shipment date changed today from 08-19-09 to 08-29-09! Did someone forget to tell the mint these were going on sale? I bet the first order taken on these yesterday was backordered too!
The Mint has been playing an interesting game as of late with the "Backorder Date".....
My UHR had a far out bakorder date yet shipped within days, same with many other orders I have placed since they changed to the 7 day return Policy. I sense they are trying to curb the cancellations related to bullion price changes and the fickle nature of second tier speculation.
<< <i>The US Mint and their relationship with PBGS is starting to piss off a lot of customers.
After all, why offer subscriptions in the first place? >>
to get a better feel for demand.
plus they will get shipped sooner rather than leter.
As complained about many times before, why have a release and have it on backorder that day?
however, as previously mentioned, things have been shipping out (imo) reasonably fast enough.
if you were to complain about the kookiness associated with backorders and release dates and sending e-mails about backorders then having "instock and reserved" on the same day... I'd agree... but it is just a small problem if they can actually get these out within a week or so.

When the mint changed to a 7 day return they stated is was due to people using the 30 day to speculate(my word) on gold price movements.
I am guessing the backorder is a bad idea in the area of "under-promise then over deliver." However, if I were doing this, I wouledn't use the word backorder and would never put a "same day" shipdate on something where the cancel box is not gone.

I'd whine about the emails except I didn't get one. All I got was a reminder, on 7/30, that my Lincoln Cent Rolls Subscription was about to be processed. I didn;t see the order until I checked on release day.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I think they're fixing that as well.
It was like that earlier in the year, but the silver proof set subs shipped as fast or faster than first day orders.
the backorder dates for the Julia Tyler was out there, I got an e-mail extending them, then on the same day it showed in stock and reserved. Cancel boxes are gone and I expect them to ship any day now.
Whoever had the same day ship date in the system made a mistake. I was hopeful enough to believe it until I realized the cancel box was still there.
don't have a fit yet. if they can't get them out in 1 - 2 weeks from the order date, then start blaming them.

Holy Moly!
I ordered 3 sets of the LP3 and here is my info #: 3262XXXX backordered until 8/28/09 and I ordered like and hour after they went on sale. Crazy stuff.
My LP3 subscription shipped today -- despite the late Aug b/o dates earlier given.
Originally subscribed 6/24. Might be interesting to see if these ship in order of subscription placed or random?

Shoot, I could have sworn I cancelled my subscription for the LP3's. Didn't want any.
Got an email today with the shipping conf. numbers.....not the order numbers.
Damn. They may arrive this week.
The reason I didn't want them, I can eventually get them in a few months. Don't need them now, don't appreciate the mint wrap..... it's not like they won't be available soon cheaper.
But they are on the way FWIW...... (just call me grumpy)
<< <i>I did not expect LP1 to ever get this high. I have no idea. >>
I see no difference between the LP1 mint set and a bank roll of BU log cabins from each mint purchased at the bank. $100 is silly......just silly I tell you.....

I don't know if it's exactly the same, but there is no difference between most first editions of books and their subsequent reprints, however, the first editions can command a significant premium. There will be hundreds of millions of these made and a tiny percentage will be in mint packaging. I guess people are willing to pay for that.
The tracking number on the box is the one in the mint system.
Maybe a group didn't have their info transmitted to FedEx?
So, this is another case where the tracking number didn't work for the entire journey (still doesn't), yet the item was delivered. I'm gunna have to call cust. serv. and let them know so they can improve internal controls if need be.
5 LP3 - boxes date 07/27 @ 14:38
Not going to open mine. I'll let the error hunters do their thing first.
I think it's 3 if you're referring to someone above.
I think they go on FedEx ground trucks, then to the Post Office for final delivery. So, people closer to Indianapolis get theirs faster. I would assume they are closer to Indy than either of us.
Order #32614xxx made ten minutes after sets were available on 08-13-09 arrived today. All five boxes are dated 07-20-09. Has anyone received boxes dated earler?
Another order (#32613xxx) placed three minutes after these were released on 08-13-09 also arrived today. All five boxes are dated 08-07-09! Guess it is not "first come; first served" at the mint.

Cancel box gone and Credit card has been chagred.
"in stock and reserved" with cancel box gone
the latest first spouse shipment shipped 3 business days + the weekend after it showed "in stock and reserved" w/out the cancel box.
smells like messed up "backorder" and "expected ship date" processes so far.
LINCOLN 2-ROLL SET "PROFESSIONAL LIFE" 5 $8.95 $44.75 In stock and reserved
Unknown News: however, tracking number does not work.
Bad News: but we knew this... coming by stage coach.... this method is slower than FedEx ground would be.

I see the UPS man delivered yours.... I requested UPS(exedited) on the sub but the tracking number is FedEx.
Was your tracking number FedEx or UPS?
improved.... but not 100% up to speed... boy.... what I'm thinking they need right now is some really good branding!
