What a find! To stir up an old kettle of worms, how can a coin be chopped and still be "Mint State"?

    Congrats on the rip.

While I'm not one of those collectors who lives and dies by plastic, this is the type of coin which, if authentic, must NOT be sold raw. Look how much money the seller left on the table!

You took a risk, you reaped a reward!
    Congrats!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I see that TDN posted the news of the coin grading Pcgs MS-62 Chpmarked. For those interested only 5 1873-P Trade $'s had previously been graded at Pcgs.Only 1 of those had graded MS.It was also a 62,so this one ties for top pop.

What are the rules for the 'You Suck" award?I see that at least 2 forum members posted it.

Congrats! that's a really nice coin. I'm amazed it avoided the melting pot, or the Brillo pad! As to a Y.S. award, I have no idea what the'rules' are. I just felt it in my gut!image

  • Good job. For those of us willing to gamble on eBay the payout can be quite lucrative!

<< <i>Other than TDN's offer what is this coin worth in a pcgs 62 holder?

    BTW nice score >>

I don't know the true value as only 1 other 73-P has been graded 62 Chopmarked.I guess it's worth a bit more than the price guide says @$1700,but only to a Chopmarked Trade $ collector.

    Congrats!

TDN, image for submitting it and hopefully you can get an upgrade out of this! image
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!

That is a rare coin and if sold should be done at auction. The bidding could get intense as the options for MS chopped Philly Trades is slim. I could see that braking 3K(or more) at a Long beach or other large auction.
