All you nay sayers, where is the downside to this? The seller has 100% feedback, has a 14 day money back return privledge. I'm assuming you paid with paypal which between it and ebay goes out it's way to find in favor of the buyer in the event something goes south. I think it's a no lose situration. At the very most, you're out shipping.
Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions
<< <i>If it's real and as nice as it appears, I'll pay you $1500 for it. >>
After reading all the people giving this the thumb down, I was thinking something similar... Actually more like, "If that is real it's AU and worth quite a bit more than the $245 he spent."
Doesn't sound like a bad $20 bet to me...Mike (who would normally not condone long shots on eBay, but this coin looks good to me)
p.s. please keep us posted!!!

Absolutely wonderful. Should slab MS62 chopmarked if there's no hidden lines, etc. The Chinese fakes can be soooo good, but this one does appear real. Congratulations.
Nice coin. Only half seriously, I suggest that perhpas you should send a few extra bucks to the seller. This forum sees much venom when it is perceived that that seller has gotten the better of the buyer (much of it deserved). When the buyer scores a rip, all is well in forum land.

ahhhh.... good score. I don't know anything about trade dollars, but now that the really good news is out I'll just throw out that the chopmark doesn't appear to be fully struck in the picture.
I'm submitting the coin for Dave at the PCGS Invitational. After seeing it in hand, it's most certainly genuine and will most likely grade MS61 with a shot at MS62 [chopmarked, of course]. Definitely a fantastic purchase on his part!
The OP can't be too happy about his purchase, it doesn't appear he left any feedback for the transaction yet.

Actually, I prefer a boldly struck chopmark in the field.... like this one:
My offer stands - Dave just wants to be sure it's genuine and see the grade before he considers it. Since I'm going to the PCGS show, I offered to walk it through at my expense for him.
that's pretty sick. I wonder how many criminals will make some money on the bay cause someone turned out to be legit? that's a NICE SCORE!!!! georgous trade$
I really like this thread... it is just good ole "feel good" thread... nice score from the wild and wooly bay...
...and I especially like how TDN has gotten involved here... very cool gesture on his part... sure, it is a Trade Dollar... and he loves these coins... but to step up and help out Dave... well, that's just right up there on the "what is cool" list...
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
I thought this thread had died.I also would like to publicly Thank TDN for his help in this matter. As for seanq's comment:With the original sellers permission to send the coin to Pcgs for authentication.I will definately leave positive feedback when I find out for sure that it is real.If it is not genuine,he has agreed to accept the return.

edited to add: Having said that, I would not have purchased the coin.
The coin itself doesnt look appealing to me in the least, but if it is to you, then

No, it doesn't scream out fake. It's screaming something, though.
If the seller is honest and you have a 14 day return, why not?

I would have to guess that TDN has a deal for when the coin grades and the option to back out if it does not.
