I don't trust that bar. There are fakes just like those on ebay and probably all over China.

  • I Doubt they are fake. They wouldn't risk their rep selling them without knowing they were legit.

Is it just me, or have they already taken that page down?

  • Not sure why the link isn't working. I've tried to fix it twice. They are still there. Chinese Tael bars.

Ah, I see them on their site. I think it might be because it's a secure site.
    Chinese bars at Apmex

My heart tells me they're very, very cool. The kind of stuff I dreamed about collecting as a kid. My gut tells me they're fake fake fake. That's just a shame.

I would be inclined to give APMEX the benefit of the doubt if I was buying the bar from them.

HOWEVER, because of the prevelance of Chinese fakes, I would not buy the bar from you, unless APMEX provided a very good photo certificate of authentication.

Great point. They may be real but good luck trying to convince someone else when it's time to resell it.

  • They look neat but I'd rather buy some Eagles, Maples or an Engelhard 100 oz. bar before spending that kind of money on a small bar of Silver.
