<< <i>I just got an eMail from Bing that an increased cash-back promo will begin August 10. >>
I got the same email. They said "back to school," so I won't get too excited until I see the details. It might mostly be promotions for clothing, shoes, and office supplies.

If so, there will no doubt be people selling clothing, shoes and office supplies... with bullion included in the deal.

Then, you wouldn't change anyway and would only use it the one (or however many times) time you wanted the money.
I didn't get the mail, either, yet, but it should be interesting to see if there are restrictions or limited items. I do know that if one uses the cashback with any ebay promotion, even when legit, it was getting tagged and automatically denied in the "grey" area between Paypal/Ebay/MS and, for me, it took a couple of weeks, some exacting documentation, and a handful of emails and phone calls to get it straightened out.
I showed all the info and guidelines/rules and was correct but there were still areas that were rough. So, if you go down the cashback path, and use other coupons at the same time, make sure it is all valid, keep all info well documented, and be prepared to need patience. I remember seeing more than a few going off the handle on this forum when they hit issues but I kept my composure with all parties involved and they actually did work together to help me.
I received the email, but it was sent from Amazon stating the Bing promotion begins on August 10th, it may not apply to Ebay as the Bing cashback varies vendor to vendor.
Today I searched for SLQs on Bing and was offered 8% off Buy It Now items on eBay. Unfortunately all nice SLQs had BIN prices way over sheet and either weren't nice or had horrible photos...
BTW I like Bing much better than Google. Sometimes I get the answer to my question right there without even having to click. Also my websites are several pages closer to the top.

I have combined Ebay 10% coupons with MS/Bing Cashback a number of times with absolutely no problems whatsoever. It has made for some very nice deals...

Percentage varies by website--always has. Good luck looking for bullion or collector coins at FootLocker, or Staples, or Gap.

I meant on ebay. If you only get the bing discount on certain categories on ebay, people will sell things in those categories and make bullion part of the deal. It was obvious during the Microsoft Live discounts that buyers AND sellers made out very well, and I don't the sellers will pass up another shot if the discount is large enough.

My opinion is that it's definitely not worth the hassle (and wait!) for such a measly amount. Doesn't anyone remember the fiasco last year where it took 10 forevers for people to get their last few payments?

I picked up a dual core laptop and a quad core gamer, no prob getting my 30 percent.
I received over $900 worth of cb last year w/o ever encountering a problem. I guess I was one of the lucky ones? Or perhaps, one of the "silent majority?"
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
I was one crying like a baby until I finally got my second speel of $2k. So, I guess the bugs are worked out.. $4,000 was like a christmas present at that time that year..
I did however get some great prices on Gold.. If I remember I got a Proof sealed 1oz Buffalo dollar for $932-30% @$732 and more great prices like that.. So, if it comes back again, I will buy, buy,buy...
Last time I did it, about a month ago it did not work. I thought I did every thing the same as my 6 other sucsessful purchases last year. Don`t know what when wrong?
I thought that the promo was double cash back. BING had been at 8% forever. I thought that the double promo would be 16%, but it is only 12%. Was it at 16% and I just missed it?

That's at selected places. You should realize that bing cashback is more than just ebay and the businesses that use it can choose what they do.
I used it last night for 12% off two purchases of about $100 each. The e-bay agreement says you can use it 20 times per e-bay account, and that the $2,500 annual limit applies (including non-e-bay purchases). What the agreement does not say is if that is 20 times lifetime, or 20 times per year.

"Cashback Program provides cashback for up to 20 qualifying purchases per account on www.ebay.com."
Sounds like just 20 per account. Since they don't say per calander year and their statement ends with a period, then I'd say 20 per account, period.
The 14%, coupled with the 2% 'ebay bucks' program works nicely. The great part about it is, both percentages are taken off the original BIN price, For example, a $1,000 coin will get you $140 from Bing, and $20 in 'ebay bucks'. It's nice that the rebates aren't figured at the new price (for example, the 14% of $1,000 would net $860, and 2% of $860 would net you $17.20, for a total savings of $157.20, instead of $160). Understood, it's a small difference, but I'd rather have $160 instead of $157.20. I used it today on a key date Lincoln with a $1,395 BIN and walked away with a savings of $223.20 ($195.30 from Bing, $27.90 from 'ebay bucks'). Coupled with free registered/insured shipping (gotta be close to $20), I am a happy camper!!

Ms M, you've got to be joking? 8.5% ??? What a great promo!!!

both, depends on which way the wind is blowing. It's random, but always one or the other in my case.

Yes. It has been working at 8% for quite some time.
It's now up to 14%.
