Ortiz on 'roids - confirmed.

Guess those milkshakes from down south really did pack an extra puch? He needs to get back on the juice if the BoSox want to see the postseason this year.

Read it and weep Sox fans.

From The New York Times: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz, the sluggers who propelled the Boston Red Sox to end an 86-year World Series championship drought and to capture another title three years later, were among the roughly 100 Major League Baseball players to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003, according to lawyers with knowledge of the results

RSN is in shock today (although maybe we shouldn't be). It's a very, very sad day not only for RSN, but until this entire list is exposed (yes, it was supposed to be destroyed) this festering wound will keep infecting the sport as the names keep getting slowly released. The media wouldn't have it any other way, shock value news makes news. If all 104 names came out at the same time it wouldn't have the same impact so expect another name to come out in a month or two which will make headlines. Enough already, just release the list.

no shock, no surprise here. His stellar performance followed by weird injury and then lack of performance was a good indicator.

The news that he's been outted doesn't seem to have affected him much. So far he's 2-3 with a HR and 3 RBI in today's game.

I always wondered why in '05 he was so supportive of Bonds. I couldn't imagine why anyone would not see what a big cheat he (Bonds) was. Well, now I know why.

Ortiz AND Ramirez...what a shocker! Next thing ya know we'll hear that Bagwell, Luis Gonzalez, and Pujols use PEDs.

Today's game has become a joke. It was headed that way long before the steroid era, but 'roids just hastened things along.

What is with Boston teams needing to cheat to win? Something in the water up there?
  • Options
    WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Phillie players were cheating back then as well....they just did not win.

As for why only 103 players were caught, they KNEW a test was coming.

As for Papi he was just doing what 80-85% of the players were doing.

Boston won those series fair and square.

Just like the teams before them did.

Ibanez is having a career year, true, but i doubt he is on steroids. He put up solid numbers for a number of years playing for some craptacular teams. makes all the difference in the world when you have guys like utley and Howard in the lineup.

lol keep posting, the more you do the more foolish you appear.

Are you saying NO Phillie has ever used PED's?

Is that what you are saying?

Go back and re read my original post, you know the one you later claimed you were not

replying too. I never said that I could name a specific player and I never said I had any sources.

Furthermore I'll stand by my original comment and I'll state it again and hopefully this time you will comprehend it.

Some Phillie players have used in the past, they just did not win a WS at that time. The WS the Red Sox won were won fair and square.

Hopefully this time you will comprehend my meaning.

    How about these two guys:

    J C Romero Source? MLB

    Len Dykstra, source Dykstra himself.

Back pedaling? Yeah ok, probably looks like that to you since you have problems with reading comprehension.

And fwiw didn't Romero get caught using just after the WS? If so, then if the Sox's championships are tainted the Sillies must be too.

Here is Steve coming up with the same comment again! Always calling someone a Troll. Steve, come up with something original yourself and stop picking on everyone who puts a reply on these threads.

And Swartz1, I wouldn't mess with WinPitcher. He is a real tough guy, safe at home behind his computer. And if you haven't figured it out yet, he loves to pick on people all day long because his life probably sucks and he can never be wrong in a discussion. Don't worry, he has called me a troll about 10 times now because he can't come up with anything else. If i were you, I would let him trash talk all he wants because then he can get his numbers up to 100,000 so everyone will think he is such an awesome guy!
