A Friend brought this in today, it dose not appear to be plated IMO, I weighed it on a diamond scale.....49.40 gr = 3.20107 g, the appearance is more Nickel looking then Silver....opinions?

True. If that was the case though it would be due to experimenting or boredom. It would just seem strange that someone would go through the process of plating a well circulated '77 Lincoln for a gift or something along those lines.

Probably mercury 'rubbed'... we did that as kids.... just take a blob of mercury and rub it all over the penny... comes our shiny silver. Cheers, RickO
