JustacommemanJustacommeman Posts: 22,852 ✭✭✭✭✭
or don't come with color, or don't come well struck, luster etc...... yet you found one that bucked the trend... Please give an explaination on why you are posting so we can use this an educational thread.

41-S WALKER PCGS 66. These always come poorly struck. This strike is above average with super toning

Hudson- NGC-66*--- Very hard to find attractive well strike examples with color

37-D Walker PCGS 66. One of the most talked about coins at JA'S CAC class. No one had ever seen that color on a walker. It's mezmerisng. I got it from one of the most repectable dealers in America.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

1877 Trade $'s are known to have a weak strike on the obverse from 11:00 to 1:00. This example sports a nice full strike.

Notable because sometimes but not often the copper toning can turn a nice fiery red at the right angle. image
  • Strike, Luster and Color are always an issue with Walkers...

    This 41 has all three...

These rarely come nice, well struck or with nice color:

The 1837 LM4 (small 5C) bust half dime, for some unknown reason, has proven itself to be quite elusive when it comes to problem free and attractive/eye appealing examples. Here's one.

    << <i>Clad,
    great 1837 H10c Lm-4!!! What grade is it? >>

Thanks. It's got a kick ass pedigree too. PCGS says it's an AU55 but personally I think it's got claims to higher.

This issue comes weakly struck - this is about as nice as it gets.

I fell in love with this coin more than 20 years ago when I saw it for the first time. I had to chase the owner for over a decade before I ended up with it. Early half dimes rarely come this well struck. And the only date that often does is the 1800. This is a super struck 1803.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
