    These are actually the DDR 002, sent them in prior to seeing the DDR 02 posting.

    Should these be sent back for the correct attribution? >>

    Are you sure they are DDR-002's?

    image

    If so, would you verify the die marker on the DDR-002. (The die scratch along the top of the boot)

    Neither set of die markers are present. Looked under the 10x loupe first then went up to 65x on the 50-100x, no die markers that match either 001 or 002.

    The doubling is closer to the 001 but is a bit more pronounced.

    The way this hobby is going we're going to end up using electron microscopes to define varieties within varieties, not exactly a good thing IMO.

    Can you photograph the coins? Specifically the doubled areas.

    << <i>

    << <i>So we're up to 8 right?

    pitboss = 2
    19Lyds = 1
    Walmann = 3
    lakefentoncoins (on eBay) sold = 1
    lakefentoncoins (on eBay) for sale = 1

    Total = 8 >>

    Adding JimDepot's 4 brings the total to 12. >>

    Since Walmann's are up in the air whether or not they are DDR-001, should his 3 be removed from the list?

    Perhaps these need to simmer for another 10 or 20 years? image

    Yup, that be mine. Decided to just let the market price the thing, and right now I'm a little antzy, not cause of the coin but tomorrow night I'm spending the night in a WWII submarine with my nephew and the rest of the boys who just love that stuff....Problem is I'm claustrophobic....Hell, I almost die going through a carwash....My nephew thinks it's very funny...image

    Well, it looks a bit small but my nephew says it ain't gonna sink....Oh Man, I was just reading some info on the linked website and found this: 11:00pm - Retire to vessel(s) and suggested lights out. This is also the start of the first watch. At least one adult per group must be awake at all times. We suggest a schedule of one to two hour watch shifts. The officer of watch must make checks throughout his or her group's assigned bunk area(s) every hour. When the watch shift is over, the on-duty officer of watch must wake the next person on the list before retiring to his/her own bunk. Great, just what I need, a third job....

    Thanks Lee, so the clad sets are the source for the ddr-001's?

    That's what I understand and there has not been many found even though there has been a very high search rate. I believe that most of these have gone into sets with a very early release date as they were probably some of the very first one's shipped and are stored away in peoples closets not to be discovered for years. I looked through 50 silver sets of proof coins myself and found nothing.
  • 18 out of 1000 sets, believe it or not, I could care less. I just went through a large group after all the big deal. I don't submit to ANACS, hell I have varieties worth 5x what these coins sell for, oh yeah I think only an idiot would pay 1k, but to each thier own. My other coins ( some jeffersons, washingtons, even a cherrios sac in the orginal packaging) worth 5x are raw. I have a ton of varieties, ask around that is what I do. I have boxes and boxes of lincolns alone, all RPM's ddo's, DDR's almost all of the coins, let me know what coins you want? Oh yeah I have 4.5 rolls of DDR-2 extra thumbs, need any of those. Scored 17 MS-64-66 1949 D/S Jeffersons out of a roll, cherried 3 1946-S DDO's, now that is a rare arse coin. get it??
