I believe the host coin is a 3CN nickel which is a little out of the ordinary.......seems to be a love token that was never finished

This is one of those coins that has some history. Why did he never finish it? Did she spurn him or did someone die?
my imagination wants to run wild and suppose that it was going to be made by a soldier for his sweetheart and he was called to duty prematurely......who knows the truth?!?

That said...for somebody with OCD like me, forming a collection of these would be nerve wracking because I'd have so many questions and so few answers!

Not something I would like to collect....sad, to me anyway.
I like the "Kiss Me Quick And Go" piece, too. I wonder what it might have alluded to- it seems there is a deeper metaphor at work there. What is its host coin?
Speaking of 3cNs and unfinished love tokens, I once got a 3cN in a bulk lot which had its obverse planed off. The obverse was blank (gone) and the reverse with the Roman numeral was all that remained. So I took it to a jeweler and had them engrave the initials of a numismatic friend and forum member on it. So there is someone amongst us with a 3cN love token that was engraved in 2001.
(We'll call it a "token of respect", in this case).
