Hi all, I just acquired $50 worth of 2006-P and D nickels from The World Reserve Monetary Exchange. (one of those national promotions you see in the newspapers) They are wrapped in these cute little $1.25 rolls and packaged in silver boxes.
I only paid face for them, now I don't know what to do with them. What would you do? Keep them as is, open and search, or take to the bank (which is where they were headed anyhow...)
Opinions are greatly appreciated.

You just answered your own question really. If you plan on taking them to the bank anyways, then why not search them and just see. Who knows what is in there and if you just take them to the bank without searching then you might miss out on something, maybe.

Yea, I guess I did. I guess I was just wondering if it would be worth the time. I guess since i "bought" them with disposable funds then I'm in no hurry to re-coup.
I (along with TomB) don't specialize in 2006, what kinda grade do I need to look for to be worth anything? 65? 67?
<< <i>Your question makes me wonder why you purchased them in the first place? Cheers, RickO >>
lol, I was wondering the same thing.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

.........ditto what ricko said. as far as 'eyeballing' them before you deposit them, i would check them out. i feel that if you don't you may let something slip thru! it's just me i guess, but i can't let coins get past me without giving them the once over.

They were part of the deal along with some silver and an 1876-S dime, I just figured I could always just cash them in if they held no hope.
I guess I'll just take a peek at them before tossing them into the bank bucket.
Search em.
