What is going on with this quarter, there is no reeding? Is this some sort of test or die trial err

I came across this at the shop today. It seems like a fully struck, circulated Delaware quarter - nothing interesting unt il you look at the rim.

I looked at it through a loop and I dont see any sign of reeding like you might see from a well-circulated older quarter.
The weight is correct.
The diameter is correct as measured by a caliper.

I thought it might be a die trial / test strike but I would think that the rest of the coin is too well struck for that - what do you think? image

pretty beat up, looks like slot machine or other similar machine wear. If the coins goes through endless slots, etc the edge wears more. --Jerry

It was repeatedly used in a slot machine at a casino.

Slot machine damage is now a thing from the past, all the paper ticket takes all fun out of it.

it could be wear or slot machine. I have seen many worn quarters in change and I could see a slight reeding. but I still don't see it on this one.

of course it could still be wear I just think it looks different. regardless I may need it for laundry anyway so it may be a moot point image
