Would you be able to resist opening this up? - Lincoln cent wrapped - PICS UP NOW
![Moonbiter](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/1917 slq 4.jpg)
This coin has been wrapped up since at least Aug of 1960 (dated envelope it came in) . As written on the paper it is a 60-D small date Lincoln. This coin was mailed to my grandmother by her sister, before they all acquired bank rolls from back then. This could be an MS coin or an AU coin most likely. With the paper being that old, chances are it's been able to tone the coin.
Would you be able to resist opening up this "treasure"? What do you think it would look like? A beautiful toned Lincoln or a coin so dark it looks hideous?
It's going to be staying wrapped up, but I thought I'd share and see what YOU would do with it, and what you think it would look like. Me, I think it would be hideous knowing my luck. lol

AFTER: Well, what do you think? The lighting is what is bringing the color out on the obverse. The reverse is pretty ugly. Overall it's nothing exciting toning wise but it looked better then I expected.

<< <i>Nah not scared, but all I see and remember is the "buried car" in Tulsa Oklahoma in 2007 that turned out to be a rust bucket. >>
What was the car story?
This was a cool find:
under a dirt mound
Sugar magnolia blossoms blooming, heads all empty and I don't care ...
It was wrapped in an old cent wrapper. The toning is rather bland and boring unless you have good light. However the reverse is just ugly. It's better then what I thought it would be though.

<< <i>That came out way better than I thought it would. Those early Lincoln Memorial cents were not very predictable. >>
In hand without good light, it doesn't look near that good though. It's a bit dark, but when you get some light by it, you can see the color.
