I read the description so didn't bid but, I almost jumped on this 4 card 52 Bowman Color lot

I read the description so didn't bid but, I almost jumped on this 4 card 52 Bowman Color lot.

I understand you have to read the fine print, and I did but, does anyone else find this just a wee bit deceptive?

What 'looks like' a 4 card lot

Edited to add:

I was scrolling through auctions looking for lots, seeing single card after single card and then I saw 4 old cards with a buy it now of $55, well, I clicked it with excitement to get a close look at the cards.

I saw they weren't creased or dinged up, then I reread the title and saw the description and was.... well disappointed. The image of 4 cards drew me in only to find out the auction was only for one.

    Fine Print? Just read the TITLE of the auction. MANY sellers list more than one card in the photo ... saves a lot of time. I don't think it's deceptive at all. JMO.

    Deceptive? Fine print? What did the auction title say? Rizzuto! Nowhere did it say that the other three cards were included. This has been the norm and if you were unsure, a simple click of the "Ask Seller a Question" would've been fine.

    I've known Michael for years and he's ALWAYS been above board and there was nothing deceptive about the auction or the listing. Perhaps you should pause for a moment before slapping accusations around that are only the result of you not paying attention. Even after reflecting on the auction, you still described it incorrectly. It IS NOT a 4 card 52 Bowman Color lot. And ALL of the cards from 1952 were color. The cards pictured were a '52 Topps, two '52 Bowman and 1 1953 Bowman Color.

    Sorry guys and I don't mean to offend you but, I still think you should have a photo of the one item you are selling, the picture makes it look like a 4 card lot.

    No offense taken, but the accusation about Sirrius may be offensive.

    There are many, many, many sellers that use multiple images in their auctions. It is a time saving method as well as a way to cross-promote their other listings.

    If the auction title weren't specific, then I would be in complete agreement. But the title was specific.

    BTW, I appreciate sellers that put up quality scans of cards they are offering, especially when they are raw!

    Not only is it not deceptive it actually is a good listing.

    The title AND the description clearly state it is for one card.

    Looks like a good listing to me. I have seen several like this and I like them. They allow me to see what else a seller has available.

    Any card I list that has multiple cards in the photo, the first part of the item description I always put "You are only bidding on the card in the title".

    I agree. I think the listing is superb and the pics are big and you can see what you are getting. I have run numerous auctions with four pics with the same words "You are bidding only for the card listed". I wish all sellers posted pics this great.

    Now a deceptive listing is one where the title says you are bidding on a PSA 9 card, when in fact you are bidding on a PSA 9 card with a qualifier!!!

    The listing is fine, IMO.

    And, whoever made the comment about listing a 9, and it having qualifiers and failing to mention it in the description or listing...yeah, that's slimey.

    My assumption before reading the fine print was that I'd be receiving a complete 52 Bowman color and black and white set, as well as a 1955 Topps set in NM/MT.

    Hi SirAnthonyAC,

    I have to admit that when I first saw auctions like that, years ago, it was a bit confusing too. But, like others have said, it's a very common practice nowadays. In fact, if I see a multiple pic while scanning through auctions, I almost automatically figure it's for one card.

    What really pisses me off are sellers that list graded cards that have qualifiers which aren't disclosed in the auction title. I know I've clicked on THIS BIN a couple of times in the past few days! Some don't mind .... Personally, it turns me away!
