Nicely done....I've never found anything better than bags of overpriced Wheaties at garage sales...

    Uncool and uncalled for post.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

That coin would benifit from an acetone bath and a light soft camel hair brush, then perhaps blue ribbon. What were are seeing here is PVC damage, not vergidris.
    Great buy for $2 image

A roll of toilet paper would just about clean you up.

Outstanding! That's a heck of a lot better than most of the things you find at garage sales.

I've always wondered, but never asked, how can you tell the difference between the two issues?

Very nice score.... I rarely see coins at yard or garage sales - actually, only once, and then they were Canadian. Super good buy. Cheers, RickO

Anytime you can get a mid 19th century coin for 2 bucks, you can't go wrong. That coin looks like it would be a good test for that verdigris remover stuff that there was a thread about a while back.

Sometimes you have to wonder what kind of an upbringing someone had when they have an absolute lack of manners.

    Wow!

Was that their price or your best offer?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Congrats on your pickup.Hope you find many moreimage
  • I thought it was a nice find. They had a bowl full of common wheats pennies with this. Nothing special. Bought at a garage/yard sale outside of Erie Pa. I always stop and look when I have time you just never know.

And a bar of soap in his mouth might help also.
