I do not think they are, I believe I have read that they aren't and I just don't think they are. Wasn't there somebody toning coins by permeating gas through the slab?

  • Not airtight. Toss a common coin slab in water and it will get some inside!

Correct, and correct again....probably more than a few gassing them, but Manofcoins was the one busted on the forums and who admitted it at that point.

If you accidentally dropped them in the toilet you might, over time, get some very interesting toning. However, I'm not recommending this.

When the barometric pressure increases, some air enters the slab and when the barometric pressure drops, some air leaves the slab. Over some length of time there will be a complete change of air within the slab.
