1972-s Uncirculated. I've had for a while and just don't do Ikes but
saved this one as it was heads above any others I've had:
thanks, bob

Lock MS67 with a really good shot at MS68.
  • Rotate this puppy under a grading light to make sure there are no tiny, isolated but reflective thin "slide lines" or other reflective defects. If none, agree 67-68.

Also check close to the Earth at 10:30 for a little incuse crescent with a tiny south-pointing "v" in its southern tip. The obverse R of LIBERTY looks to have a robust peg leg so your Ike is likely to have the "Shadow Image" in an early and sharp die state which is found on less than 10% of these 72-S Silver Specimen Ikes. (You can read about this image here: SHADOW IKE

If a sharp "V" is present in the shadow, this Ike is probably worth sending to NCS to have most of the milk spots removed and then to PCGS for holdering. The Shadow image may never be recognized by PCGS but it will catch on when we publish our Ike Book. Rob

Nice strike. I don't like the spots, so I'm going with 66.

I don't do Ikes, but the above sounds spot on. Quite a few distractions so MS66 sounds about right.

I'd grade it MS-66. The luster is great, but I'm no fan of milk spots, and there is nothing you can do about them that won't make it worse.
