Half cent NEWPS!

I thought I would only have one to photograph tonight, but as it turns out I had two.

I dropped by my local b&m today, which *never* has half cents higher than about VF. Well, the half cent fairy had dropped by and left this one. I was looking for an RB 1854 anyway. It has more lustre than what is apparent in the pictures. I'll probably send it in to PCGS.

Next is the half cent I mentioned buying on eBay in this thread, an NGC MS65 BN. I suspected that it was nicer in hand than the pics implied, and I think I was right.

First the pics from when the coin previously sold...

And now my pics. The coin has more lustre than I was expecting (not as apparent in these pics though).

I can see why you're called coinpictures - those are some nice pics!

I especially like your pic of the 1856 (and I like the coin as well).

Both nice half cents. Glad to see that 56 purchase turned out well for you. Nice pictures.

I think half cents are an underappreciated denomination. Finding attractive Braid Hair 1/2 cents in 5 is tough in any color. The typical coin offered is a horribly struck 1855 which looks like a cross between something that's dead and some dog**** you see on your front lawn.

All coins pictured in this thread are imo attractive for the grade (I'm guessing the 1854 RB would come back in a 3 holder).

I agree on HC's being under appreciated - you can get some mighty nice coins for much less then the big round ones.

Those HC's shown here are quite nice
