Yeah, the 83 mostly because he is in a Braves uniform
  • I'd go with the 87 Donruss. Love the look on that card. You can see him griping the ball to throw a knuckler.

*edit* - but if you're a braves fan then there's no competition. Just as I'd only want a Griffey auto on a Mariners card.

Of the 3 cards pictured, the '87 looks best, but I'm not sure an auto shows up very well with all the dark colors. You'd want an auto to really stand out against a light backdrop. That said, I'd probably go with the '83 OPC.
  • I like the 83 OPC (of course) but you have to consider how you are going to display this card. Is it going to be in a binder with a number of other vertical cards? I'm big on uniformity when putting cards in pages. Just sayin'

Go with the 1983. I had over 600 autographed cards. They don't show up well on the dark cards.

1987 Donruss will be impossible to see -Had one not a great card for autographs

1986 Topps- One of my favorites. He would have to sign at he bottom only. Had 3 OK card if signed at the bottom.

1983 OPC the auto will show up great. I use to have a couple of the topps signed.

  • Without question the 83 O-Pee-Chee super vet ( rookie year and present as of 83 ) That would be the best for an autograph IMHO

Personally I like the Record Breaker. Make sure you post the final result!

I'd go with the Record Breaker too. I think one signature on a two picture card would look a little odd.
    Collecting Tony Conigliaro
  • Of course i would go with the Braves .

I don't like any of the three, but if I had to choose I'd go with the OPC since he is mainly a Brave.

    Good luck in any event!

    Good for you.

I like the picture in the 1987 Donruss and though it's not one of your finalists, I think the 1968 Topps looks the best...

  • 83 OPC, in his braves uniform, plus its a horizontal card.
  • If you could get a gold sharpie on the 87 donruss it would stand out and look really nice. Maybe try it out on another from the same set and see how you like it?

I got a lot of autos on '83 OPC cards back in the '80s. On many of them, the Sharpie has now bled through to the back.
