I'm going to say its an MS65......tough call on whether or not it would get bands - both NGC and PCGS are being REALLY tough - and based on what I'm seeing today, I'd have to say NO to bands. ALl this is based on your pictures which is always dicey. However, my MS65 grade is based, primarily, on what appears to be some marks / scratches in the hair above the temple....they appear distracting and eliminate MS67 possibility. When taken in conjunction with the marks on the top of the ear rim (looks like several in parallel) that tells me we're not talking MS66 either - plus seems to be a few smaller solitary tics on the point of the chin as well as on the cheek right behind the mouth.....hence my MS65 non-bands grade estimate.

I would agree with Craig on this one, but I might go as high as MS66 if it had booming luster. That is something that the picture doesnt show. The marks in the hair/ear might keep it at 65. I also agree it would be a toss up about the bands. They appear fully separated but the marks are definitely there and it appears to have a small tag of metal that might bridge between the lower bands. Too close to call from a photo. I dont think I would send it in right now. The grading services are very tight right now.
So let me get this straight. If its "scratched" it BB's. If it has a hit instead, it grades. What is so special about scratches that cause coins to not grade?
