Who is the biggest Ebay doucher?

a) The guy who gripes "I spend $160.00 with you and you can't even leave me feedback?" (it's been 10 days and I've been out of town for 8 of them.) or

b) The guy who shorts me $2 in shipping because apparently he thinks it only costs $1.00 to send him his card.

Tell b) that you'll be glad to either ship him 1/3 of the card, or ship the whole card 1/3 of the way to him.

  • Gotta say B.

At least the "A" guy isn't blatantly ignoring the terms that he agreed to before making the purchase.

As you know, setting the auto-FB function to leave FB upon
receipt of payment eliminates the FB-beggars.

So, I guess I will choose the guy who did not pay the correct
    amount for shipping.

If customer "A" paid for an item, and you had time to physically ship it out, then its simply a case of laziness on your part that you didnt leave him FB.

Ah yes, the Internet strong-man who appears solely to discredit the OP. Is there anything smaller than a troll who pops up to gripe about opinion (in this case, a question) posed on an online forum? Do you hang with Burrito Jimmy?

In any case, a defining post from Skilow.

Cavalier. Your buyer has 25,000 feedback and is also a seller. His shipping charge is about the same as yours. I guess he feels it's okay for him to cover expenses when selling but then becomes a cheapskate when he's buying. If you look at his listings you'll find the following line in his item descriptions, "I WILL SEND YOU AN INVOICE ONCE AUCTION ENDS WITH COMBINED SHIPPING YOU WILL HAVE A CHOICE OF USING PAYPAL OR MAILING PAYMENT" It looks like he missed the memo about Ebay's ban on soliciting paper payments.

    c) How about the guy who cashed a $130.00 dollar money order that cost $4.00, plus postage, waited almost three weeks, and then never sent the cards because he had some other deal going that didn't go through........and didn't offer to reimburse for the costs let alone the hassle........ring a bell??? And then listed the cards again with prices, and after buyer selects a group of them, changes the prices on some and accuses the prospective buyer of trying to take advantage of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Nope, can you be more specific? As it is, the implication (to me anyway) is that it is the OP.

B is the biggest douche. He need to live up to the terms of the sale.

A needs to realize, feedback is not part of the transaction. It is a bonus, if you want it leave it. If you don't want it, don't leave it for me.

    Dave

Feedback isn't a bonus, it's an expected part of each Ebay transaction. It's two people saying Thank You for the deal. Giving and receiving feedback is important to some people, like Yankees001, who put their 2100+ Ebay score in their tagline. A person begging for feedback after 10 days is no more unusual than a seller who doesn't bother to leave feedback for 10 days. Sellers have to know that there's a small percentage of buyers who are very concerned about getting feedback, and it's every bit important to them as quality of goods and shipping cost and delivery time. Why anybody would willingly put a customer in the position of having to beg for feedback is odd, especially when this type of person is more likely to use the detailed seller rating system to detail their experience.

Ah yes, the 34-post Wink finally makes good on his threat to complain about a deal gone bad. Yep, it was May 2008 and I completely botched a deal with him, something for which I apologized and issued a refund for, but apparently that was not good enough and he wants me to pay him the $4 cost of the money order he sent. It was one of two deals that I sincerely regret (the issue with Roger MNJ being the other). No one's infallible and I'll be happy to send said $4 and also donate $50 to the charity of Wink's choice. Props for bringing it up over a year later. You stay classy.
