Look at that strike on the eagle with the nice definition of the feathers.

    Nice one image

I see no reason why it shouldn't cross. I have no gold, but from those pics, at least, it looks a bit better than a 61.

Why? There isn't really any difference in price between a PCGS and NGC MS61 for a coin like this.

Looks like it's dipped bright. Not original.

  • I dont collect gold but that coin is nice. If thats a 61 I would liketo see a 65.
  • That's a pretty nice strike on the eagle. image

    Ditto

The coin kind of has that "white gold" look to it that comes from being dipped.

For caparison purposes here is a 1907 eagle I purchased years ago in an NGC MS-61. I think that this coin is under graded, and that is not unusual for this type. I think some graders under rate these coins because the strike is quite often soft in the center, especially the obverse.

Bill's coin is a steal in a 61 holder. The first coin in the thread seems to have been dipped from what I can tell in the picture.

I always have a hard time with TT photos and coloring. I guess you will need to see how it appears in person- if it has that mellow, orange-gold look of original skin, or the bright bling-yellow of a dipped coin. Don't be afraid to return it if it isn't exactly what you want!
