I don't have a horse in this race but I thought I would look it up.

    Ryan Howard - 94
    David Wright - 84

I also looked it up and was surprised to see that Wright has that many k's. Wright's BA is 326 and has an OBP of 414

Howard BA is 252 and has an OBP of 326. Of course Howard has 20 HR's while Wright only has 5.

Wright is obvioulsy the better hitter but Howard has the Power.

Imo, I would rather have the power but that;s just me
  • The knock against strikeouts is widely overrated in most cases. So what if Howard strikes out a lot. So do a lot of power hitter nowadays. Howard is in an elite group of first basemen, and most teams would be upgraded if they swapped first basemen with Philly.
