He didn't run this time. Although technically unsuccessful in 2007, he ran on a reform platform which was largely validated by the other pro-reform candidates that were elected, spelling the beginning of the end of the Cipoletti era.
Cliff Mishler's win over Patti Finner continues that wave.

He did not run this year and he hasn't posted yet probably because this thread does not provide him an opportunity to talk about himself.

There's always next time!
I didn't run because another organization that I am an officer of, ILNA (Illinois Numismatic Association) is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and while there will be other ANA elections, there will not be another 50th Anniversary of ILNA.
Now, the election results.
President - I predicted (along with a lot of people here) that Cliff Mishler would get it, and this has become the case. Congrats to "The Mish" for a clean victory. As for Finner, she needs to get out of politics entirely (maybe do Central States a favor and resign as well). Gary Lewis kicked her
Vice President - Not going to waste any time on that.
Board of Governors - Boling, Krause, Ostromecki, and Martin were ones that I predicted wins from. Rottinghaus and Garrett were not in the cards as far as predictions went but could work out as long as they maintain a "reform-minded" objective. Wolka (Patti Finner's #1 stooge) got re-elected, which was very surprising (as votes for him were probably from dead people in Indiana (i.e. ballot-stuffing).
And that's my 2 cents worth!

Aren't you the one who enjoys quoting yourself in all of your "press releases" that you write yourself that nobody really has any regard for? Of course not, you say as you're busy a lot, busy compiling your sale lists of 40 cent items.
Feel free to ask my customers how "self-centered" I truly am and perhaps you will learn a thing or two, provided you're not too thick headed to absorb any facts.

WTCG - Why must you pollute these boards with your insults? Really, do you have much of a life? Maybe you take great pride berating people like me, who are the majority of the dealers of this hobby who have stuff that most people can actually afford. I don't think there are many people here who care for your vile comments and you really need to stop or I will do whatever it takes to get you kicked off these boards. These boards are for collectors (and dealers) to communicate to each other in a friendly and positive matter, and are not for your idiotic amusement.
Oh no, please dont hold back how you really feel.
WTCG has been a big help to me and I think he is an asset to these forums. JMHO

Hey Doran...I've got a new slogan for both you and your company...
"Doran Coins...big opinions...little common sense"
Excuse my delay in posting this rebuttal as my iPhone battery was running low and I had to run to the bank to deposit the payment from a customer who purchased about a dozen 19th and early 20th century gold coins from me this morning. Apparently your idea of what your customers can afford and what mine can are two totally differing opinions.
So to answer the question whether or not I have a life...I'll play humble this time so feel free to ask around. Actually I'm planning to take a trip this weekend with the other half right after I get back from a coin show in Colorado tomorrow. So really it appears I don't have a life because I spend my days searching for nice coins and meeting and talking with my customers.
Perhaps we should poll the forum members on the question of who contributes more to the boards in a positive manner...me or you. I say I win when it comes to helping others and you kick my butt in the area of unbased name-calling.
Now go back to your life...you know, the joys of typing out pages of sale lists featuring 40 cent items and setting up shows in towns people have never heard of all by yourself.
Oh yeah...don't forget your ritual of bashing "flea-bay" some more. Apparently bashing eBay by calling it dirty names is your preferred version of erotica.

I agree too.
You compare one of the brightest young stars in numismatics around today to an opinionated fool and the answer is clear, I'm on WTCG 's side.
If anybody should be banned it should be Dorancoins. All his posts are either spam posts or negative name calling ones.
Now, now. I am learning a lot about small town geography of the Midwest from Dorancoins.

wow

Actually, at the present time, Doran Coins is selling DARKSIDE coins!
Cant help getting that shameless plug in right?
<< <i>Ummm....congrats to Clifford Mishler and all the other winners!
wow >>
I definitely agree. With the congrats...and the wow.
merse
As for Finner.... I remember all too well, her defending the old Board's actions to me at a coin show. I don't think she'd have won VP the last time if she had had anyone, even Al Gore, run against her.
If someone actually wanted to buy some of those 40 cent coins, if they use Paypal he also gigs them 3% extra. You realize you can't do that, right? It's against PP rules.
RIP Mom- 1932-2012

Wow...didn't know you could charge fractions of a cent on PayPal. I guess you learn something new every day.
