Do These Rogers Hornsby Certified Autographs Appear Markedly Different?

I'm looking to pick up a certified autograph card of Rogers Hornsby. There's a 2009 SP Legendary Cuts Rogers Hornsby Auto currently on ebay. I'm passing on it because the autograph looks horrible. But beyond that, the autograph is markedly different from the other Hornsby auto I have saved pictured below. Any Hornsby experts out there? Does the top one appear legitimate? Thanks.

If you want an authentic Hornsby, just buy one authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA.
If you buy a cut autograph that was inserted in packs, you will pay MORE than the cut is worth.

There are quite a few player contracts he signed from when he was in management. Should be able to find a reliable source for around $500 to $800. Would definitely be a better piece than an index card with a fancy header

Woah, that's kinda cool, seeing an auto in it's previous state before getting carded.

That is very interesting.

Not really. I thought, perhaps, that was the "safest" way to go. But I would be perfectly happy with virtually anything as long as I knew it was real.
bigjed ... Those are some sweet autographs/items!
