It will not be $7500. It is $10 a coin plus $5 for attribution for regular orders. It was only $10 per coin for Pitboss on his bulk order and that included the attribution in the $10 each, so the total will be $5000 plus shipping on 500 coins. Unless they have a cheaper price for that many coins at once, call and ask them for the best rate on 500 coins.
They are not buying them right now because I will not give them away. I want top dollar and will not budge much. I have had plenty of offers. I am the only one with 67's on ebay so why should I.
<< <i>But I don't see anyone buying these graded. >>
<< <i> They are not buying them right now because I will not give them away. >>
The graded ones that have been put on Ebay have not sold well with the last 2 selling for less than the cost of grading (MS 65 WDDO-002/WDDR-006) and that's with NO competing auctions! Imagine if we put 10-20 of them out there???????
There is also an MS 67 CDDR-001 closing tomorrow with no bids yet and a starting price of $29.95. You may think they are worth $150 each but reality says otherwise.
Think hard about spending thousands on grading something that maybe only our little group here appreciates. The general coin collecting public is NOT clamoring to get these for their collections. Prices are usually bid up high on initial demand and then level off. This one never had the initial run up.
If you want some graded for your own collection then that makes perfect sense. Just don't expect to profit just because YOU think they are worth hundreds each.
I have a bunch of 67's and a single 68 and I will probably keep them all for my own collection rather than sell them for chump change.
<< <i>Think hard about spending thousands on grading something that maybe only our little group here appreciates. The general coin collecting public is NOT clamoring to get these for their collections. >>
Very disheartening to hear this.
It may be years until it maybe gets in Cherrypicker?

Very few people people even read this book, mostly hardcore error guys. Even when these varieties make it into the book (if they even do) the fad will be over and only a few people will be "persuaded" to pursue these coins. The hype surrounding these "errors" is mostly found on this board. You aren't going to get rich buying and selling these coins, and you shouldn't be making major investments in them.................on the other hand if you enjoy errors and the thrill of finding them this latest mint batch of "errors"is a cheap and fun way to enjoy the hobby. The market is getting weaker and weaker......I wouldn't expect things to change.
Unless some of these show up in circulation I believe they will never be in Cherry Pickers, isn't the whole idea of the book is to Cherry Pick pocket Change. Unless they come out with Cherry Pickers for US Mint LP 2 boxes, I maybe wrong?
When the extra leaf wisconsin was discovered in Tucson, it made the local newspaper. I don't recall what brought the awareness to the next level. Whatever that was has not happened w/the lincoln errors. No publicity. Eventually I'll send a paragraph to USA today FWIW. It is newsworthy to have a penny sell for 4 figures afterall as the first proof error did on Ebay.
Help.......there were TWO proof errors which sold on Ebay and I have searched every way I can think of but can't locate those auctions. Can anyone help me out here? I need it to submit to the news.
<< <i>I bought this one 110416376773, but I don't have it yet, lets just say I'm not impressed with the seller, but I do realize he primarily sells toys...
I paid within 5 minutes, but I'm not concerned, we're in the same state, and Cass won't stand for Bologna.... >>
7 days and you live in the same state? Not very good service.
<< <i>Did you email him? It should have arrived by now. >>
On Tuesday some time after 5pm I got the Ebay message saying it had shipped, I think that happens when a seller clicks the mark as shipped button? Listing says registered mail...but it also says ships within 1 day.
<< <i>Do you know for a fact? If so which ones are they. I have not heard of any other than the link I posted earlier in the thread which I think is fake. >>
Ok fellas. I just opened a bank box and found WDDR-035. So, we may lay to rest the question as to whether or not bank boxes contain DDRs.
That's good to know that you found some in bank rolls.
I'll include "you may find these coins in your pocket" w/my next submissions to the news services. These just need some publicity.
Why do I want them to have publicity? Sure, I have some so there is a (small) vested interest.......
Mostly, I would be disappointed as a coin collector if I didn't know this lincoln error coin was out there. I don't subscribe to any coin magazines, this is the only place I get any info, and I'm not too active here.
Conversation turns to specific coins, and among others, the new Lincoln Cents are discussed. Their popularity appears without bound.
"Lincoln Cents are amazing right now." comments Pines, "Yes, its the hundredth anniversary of the series. You’ve got the new reverses for the 2009. All the stars are lined up right for that series right now. And, there is an awful lot of interest, and it doesn’t seem to be waning at all."
So I go back and see if there has been ANY mention of ANY of the DDR's.....NOPE, NADA, ZILTCH
But "LINCOLNS ARE AMAZING RIGHT NOW"
Tell that to those trying to get a decent price for their coins...
so, anyone have a good picture of a WDDR-009? I think I have some but it's really hard to tell and the markers I see are not listed on the websites. But most of my errors, like the 001, and 002 markers don't match the websites.
Comments
I think you will be happy with the results. I am planning on sending in 150 of the WDDR 001 myself.
Good luck
Steve

Successful Trades: Swampboy,
I have no idea as I have only been pulling out ones and twos. I have set aside thousands of the minor varieties to go through later.

Good Luck!
That's Bigtex....He starts his bids at "Whoesale".....
<< <i>Do you think the 5 and 8 are worth grading? >>
only two reasons to grade those.
1. slab for your own collection.
2. only if you think it will grade high enough like a ms68.

Interesting to see what the "Whoe" sells for.....anything under $60 will say a lot

I give up after 013b......I can't be bothered with the next 40 or so
I doubt if ANYONE will try to complete a set since there will probably be 70-80 different when the dust settles.

There are some very visible DDRs in the 50's, that are worth the search. The point was DDRs are not restricted to LP2 sets.

Florida; BRINKS shrink wrapped rolls
