Cool find: 1974 Topps BB Wrongback....George Foster front/Bill Buckner back.

over the past several days i have been mining a large accumulation of 1974 Topps baseball cards which i presume are mostly vending and it's been a lot of fun looking at these things over and over again while i have been building up lots for some of the good folks over in the BST forum.....well, yesterday i stumbled upon something, quite by accident as i was looking through a stack of #646 George Foster cards and checking condition, the last one i looked at turned out to be this:
Front of card #646 George Foster:

Back of card #505 Bill Buckner:

i did a double take assuming two cards had been wedged into the holder, but nope, there it was, a way-cool 1974 Topps Baseball Wrongback......not too bad a shape either, although it's off-centered and has an oil spot on the right lower corner of the border, but this is what it's all about in collecting.......just finding something that you don't see very often, and it just feels cool.
i know some of you love to collect these goofs and foul-ups and i enjoy getting to be one of you and i like the exclusivity i get to experience in finding these special rare items......unless, of course 50 collectors jump in to post their George Foster Wrongbacks
......anyways, just thought i'd share.

apparently not.
Usually you'll have decent centering on front.
With the wrongbacks looking like this.
And here's a front of a miscut Buckner.

I sold a 71 topps a while back. It had some no name player on the front and Rod Carew on the back.

apparently not.
I saw that too
Maybe he shoud have stuck with the outfield

Sadly it is true
<< <i>That drawing on the back can't be Bill Buckner......he's catching the ball
Sorry Sawk fans
Oh baby ... and I was at this game ... sitting on the first base side!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
