Except that the 1000 coin bags are sold out already.

I think some people were expecting much lower, like around $19 million for Denver. Still the numbers are coming down to interesting levels.

Don't really know. Never bought one myself. Paper weight? Resell at a higher price? Flea Market dealers bust them open and sell singles?

Seriously, I don't know.

Typically we buy them to search for high grade coins then return them to the bank. I know others that put together roll sets for them or individual sets.

Dave has the right idea

1000 coin bags also make sense for some dealers (particularly those with shops)...as they can probably sell a good number of them for $0.50 to $1 each.

$19 million would be 76,000,000 coins, which would be higher than the 42.6 million!

Over at the MintNewsBlog site, there's an interesting observation. If the Mint sells as many Guam bags and rolls as they did for Puerto Rico, that would represent 10% of the total Guam mintage. If collectors/speculators go around and get the bank rolls before merchants get them, we might never see these in our change.
