I will shoot low. A liberty double eagle. An appealing one. Somehow, I don't have one yet (what?!?) . I fully expect to stumble upon the right one some day.
And I will also toss this in: A large, baroque, old multiple-thaler piece. I don't think i've ever seen one; they seem to be exceedingly rare.
saw a really nice near-gem coppery/red (raw) Large Cent this past week-end (falls under the heading: "looks too good to be true", esp to one ignorant of this breed)
nicely-toned hi-grade circulated CBH ...
semi-key date MORGAN MS 64 DMPL (donations accepted- notice I'm not asking for an MS66)
near ULTRA FH SLQ- MS65, semi-key date (again, I'm not being greedy)
{ this is a make-a-wish thread, right??}
WILL WORK FOR CENTS, QUARTERS, HALVES, DOLLARS....
<< <i>A 1913 Liberty nickel. I've owned several sets, minus the 1913. It is my fantasy coin! >>
I'm there and with that Goldberg auctioned 1870 S half dime in MS 63. I do not covet my neighbors goods, but I commend them for having the wherewithall to own these fantasy pieces of mine.
I agree. It's on my list as well. There's a great story behind the rarity of this one. Apparently, it was underweight to cheat people so many of them were melted to create proper weight coins, creating the rarity.
Sorry for no pics, but I don't have that capability here... and couldn't stand to look at it.
