This area of the market is dead, that one is cold...

Name a single series that is peaking right now? I dont think there is. Why all the talk about segments of this current market? Its a down period.

Nothings not effected and even in coins the economy plays a role.

I just think its beyond series now and more about the hobby as a whole. Coin markets run in cycles and history has proved this countless times.

Thoughts?

U.S. gold coins seen to be doing quite well.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

But are they doing well compared to where the market was a year ago?

I wish I could buy a few double eagles at last years prices. image

Really? I dont follow Double Eagles, or gold in general anymore.

I just meant in the OP that the entire market seems to be dropping abit. All be it a correction, a decline in values, or a decline in interest, the market as a whole seems to be changing and not just primarily a certain series or two.

All modern bullion related items are doing very well.

Question, is the gold market investor driven or collector driven?

I think it's driven by the recent gold bullion price rise.

DEAD- IMHO are Commems, Clad Coinage, and Buff nickels

hot/Peaking- Hedges against US dollar- i.e. Gold, Silver, Platinum- I believe the WLH are as strong as ever right now- these coins are getting as much now as last year (Based on what I track and where)

World coins seem to be doing fairly well still, some very strong prices at both the Goldberg and Heritage auctions.
