This year's election just doesn't have the thrill of the previous election where we Voted The Bums Out.

Paul Hollis??? THE Paul Hollis? That guy that used to stand next to Robert Chambers on the Coin Vault????

Yep, the same guy. I live in New Orleans and he has a huge bilboard close to the intersect of I-10 and Causeway Blvd. The billboard shows him holding the proof 1804-O gold $10 coin that he brokered a deal to allow it to be loaned to the museum at the NO mint for display. He has a coin shop about 30 mins north of New Orleans in Mandeville.

That would be a very unfortunate name for a coin dealer.

I'd have a hard time voting for a coin vault person. I sure like JP Martins write up/pitch - looks like a no brainer there.

At the risk of "stepping into it" I think Mishler is way too proud of himself.

I think anyone who played a part in cleaning up the stench coming out of Colorado Springs two years ago and restoring some respect and integrity to the organization has earned the right to feel at least a little proud, IMO.

While I am no longer a member, I would vote for Mishler if I were. Several years back he stepped in to help the Michigan State Numismatic Society (he is a long time member) during a financial crisis. He is competent, honest and reliable.

As far as the office of President of the ANA goes, anyone but Patti Finner. image This means that I'll be voting for "The Mish!"

As far as seats for ANA Governor goes, anyone but Wendell "Finner's Little Helper" Wolka and Alan "I'm the old curmudgeon who sided with Finner in kicking Walt Ostromecki off the ANA Board in '05" Herbert! image

Need a reminder of why Finner and Herbert needs to sent out to pasture for good - click below to read the newest revelation (released 5/29) about their buddy ol'chum Chris Cipoletti.

ANA alleges theft in new court filing - Cipoletti in real hot water!

Need a compelling reason why Wolka needs to be booted - just ask his fellow Hoosiers on his "thank you" to them by voting to move the 2011 ANA from Indy to Chicago! image

The presidential vote was an easy one - "the Mish" and then I picked out about five folks who had no connection whatsoever with the old guard - the ballot will go out in Monday's mail.

I picked up 3 ballots in the mail today. I wonder where the 4th ballot is?

I don' think Mishler has the leadership qualities necessary...........

Go to cointelevision.com and look at the candidate's forum - Finner is not a leader if she has to let Bill Horton do all the talking for her!

I will be providing the Official Longacre Endorsements on Monday. Stay tuned.

PS. A little preview-- I an not sure who wrote Herbert's little blurb in the ballot literature, but it could not have been written any worse. Incredible.

I ran into Mishler at a coin show ealier this year.

After exchanging pleaentries, I asked what ideas he had for the ANA under his leadership if he were elected.

He told me he did not have any ideas....but that his strength was in managing and coordinating the ideas and communication of persons under him.

When asked this question as a part of a series of questions to all candidates: ( see the ANA website under election center)

Question 1. As a member of the ANA Board of Governors, would you believe you were elected to serve in a policy-making or management role?

    His answer was:

Chester L. Krause: The BOG directs the Executive Director to manage the ANA. We are not micro managers.

I would think any leader of an organization would have some ideas to run and or improve it. He seems like a real nice man though.

Not only did I not get a ballot in the mail, I don't think they recognize me as a life member. They can't even do the billing like I asked them. Who's running for bookkeeper ?
