the commission of fine arts picked 2010 lincoln reverse........

...........according to coin world the flag is their choice.

My, those pills were very powerful.
I wish they would get rid of cents. But I fear that many folks can't handle the math.

Way to go Guys!
BTW, isn't depicting the United States Flag on a coin against flag protocol?
The name is LEE!
.........of course the final word rests with Timothy F. Geithner.

I think *we've* stopped making sense a long time ago..........
As to the reverse choice - BLECH

chose the most bland of th3 5 I've seen.
What happened to the choked wheat deisgn? That had more life than the flag design does.
Either the shield or the eagle would be cooler. at least it's not a building though!!

..........the mint rejected it.

They're doing such a poor job that they should be on commission instead of straight salary!

I believe the 34-star flag was current when Lincoln was in office.

I dont know, Im not a fan of any of them. Id like to examine more civil war tokens and find suitable designs....I like this one, Just change the date area to ONE CENT
<< <i>OK, there is no excuse for not choosing that beautiful eagle design.
I'm with you Ben, I think that one would have looked good too.
The flag is just to generic.
The shield, imo, is the best design.
The eagle should be headon instead of a profile.
Just my opinion, guess we'll have to settle for the flag
Terrible choice.
The shield would have been so much better.

Th rest of the government stopped making "sense" a long time ago. It is time for the Mint to catch up!

If they want a flag design, why don't they just get an Old Navy flag t-shirt and use one of those.

The way things are going the average citizen is going to be lucky if he or she ever sees any of theses coins.
The mint is issuing too much new stuff and my reactions, even as truly nutty coin collector are

.........love that eagle!
Sorry but if that is as good as they can do don't do it. We don't need the cent any more anyway.
............you may be right, Syl, but i think it's here to stay. in fact there's talk of a 'new' obverse design (see my other post) for 2010.
<< <i>The big "e pluribus unum" is very unattractive. >>
<< <i>So to the letter of the law the design is emblematic of Lincoln holding together the union. and, exactly that to the T. his refusal to remove the "conferate" stars.....OK so the law is met.
