Lincoln Cent - The Formative Years aka Logsplitter

I know I'm not alone in my anxious wait to order this next round of new Lincoln cents, and as with the Birthplace issue, I'd guess they'll take just as long between order and delivery.

And, while many are STILL looking for the 1st set coming out of the channels of commerce, they must now (or soon will be) feel conflicted as to where, exactly, do their loyalties rest? How will they divide their anxiety?

Stay tuned...

As for me, I'll be ordering mine the morning of the 14th, having once rescheduled my morning appointments to allow time to accomplish this worthy task sooner, rather than later.

The Countdown Begins... image

They will not let you order 1 minute before 12 noon.
I won't get home till 8:00 Thursday and can't order from work.
I'm afraid they'll be sold out by then. image

    Regards,

    John
Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I was afraid I would be scheduled for work on Thursday, but it's one of the two days I'm off image. I got lucky I guess, karma will probably schedule me to work the day of the next set image

I'm sure there will be every reason to think you can place your order within the first several days without concern... it took an unprecedented two weeks for the first set to do so, and while there's as much - if not more - interest in the 2nd set, once the gates open, you can order 24/7 online anyway...

Unlike the first set, practically everyone ordering these will be getting the maximum five sets. I expect these to be sold out within twenty-four hours.

The Mint has generously allowed folks to get them at face value at their store, BUT YOU CAN ONLY GET 6 rolls.

True...but those are not the special Mint wrapped rolls, but commercial bank wrapped rolls. The money is in the "wrapper" and not the coin for this issue & the previous issue.

Apparently, "buying the holder" doesn't only apply to plastic!

Yeah, imagine the care the mint exercises in those rolls. I mean, quality is job one. After you wipe all the spots off, its a easy

Perhaps moreso, since they're available to a far smaller audience...

Wouldn't mind being there to score a couple, but that's not to be... guess I'll just have to keep my eye on the bay if I want any...

Yeah Yeah, but you are talking about the DC Store right? Philly doesn't get ANY rolls. I've tried several times this year and gotten the same response from them each time! Be happy you can get any there!

Lincoln City is probably your best shot because the next designs will be released in much more populated areas (Springfield, Illinois and Washington, DC). Imagine what the crowds will be like in those two cities.

The mint should set up at some of the major cities when they do this...if they want to promote them, let them do it coast-to-coast or not at all.
But, Moy can only be in 1 place at a time getting his picture taken, so I can imagine he doesn't care for more than 1 event image

Does anyone know if it will be easier and/or faster to order them from the Mint online or by telephone (or is it about the same?)? image

Far and away, I believe, will be online... takes little to get online and order, but traffic may slow the process, as it did the last time... Calling by phone, however, that takes time, as there will be many who call, and THAT traffic is far less forgiving...

Or, you could just knock on the door at High Noon...
