1990 donruss comedy of errors

Just wondering if the general concensus is that donruss did this on purpose to sell more product? There are a ton of mess-ups in this set. Also, am I just dreaming this up, or was there a Billy Spiers error from 1990 score?

I think Donruss made a major change to their printing process and style that year, plus if I remember correctly they pushed their product to be the first out that year.
That both equals a lower quality error filled year.

That was it! Just pulled 2 of the errors in the past 30 mins. I feel like im in a time machine. That was a $5-$10 card back then, wasnt it?

Mark McGwire Grand Slammer - factory issued version has either a large gap in the line to the left of his name (where the yellow star is on the All-Star cards) and corrected.
All of the All-Star cards can be found with the INC or INC. variation on both the "Recent Major..." and "All Star..." versions with the exception of the Harold Baines Black Line error.
I am not positive but I think Nolan Ryan's 5000K and King of Kings errors don't come in one of the INC/INC. variations.
I have never seen a copy of the Bo Jackson DK variation, if anyone has one, I'd love too see a pic (I'm building a master set of this). This card is almost as mythical to me as the 1990 Fleer Darryl Strawberry with "hand done L in Darryl" variation and the 1990 Topps Jeff King "No White* on Back" card. I have looked through hundreds of copies of these and have yet to find anything matching the description.
*off topic, but 1990 Topps had no white on the backs of their cards. If they guide means gray, then it's likely a result of the yellow ink running onto the gray which probably puts it in the same needle-in-a-haystack category the 1990 blackless ones are in.

Also, to answer the original topic, I think I remember hearing, somewhere along the lines, that it was leaked that the 1990 Donruss errors were intentional to capitalize of the rapidly growing interest that the 1989 Ripken card started. I wish I had a source, but I'm almost 99% positive I once read this.
I do think though that some of the variations were not intentional - like all the little line break ones. The Ryans, Baines, DK's and Gonzalez are pretty suspect. As is the 1990 Upper Deck Ben McDonald, which I am certain was intentional - he was like the biggest prospect at the time - and they kept the Star Rookie format on the reverse.
